James Franco broke out his winter wear on Thursday for the premiere of his new film at the Sundance Film Festival.
The 36-year-old actor wore a dark blue snowflake sweater with black jeans and black snow boots.
James sported a thick layer of facial hair as he fielded questions at the premiere of I Am Michael at the festival.

He teamed up with director Justin Kelly and cast member Charlie Carver at the premiere.
The drama is based on a 2011 New York Times Magazine article titled  'My Ex-Gay Friend.

James portrays prominent gay activist Michael Glatze who over the course of just a few years denounced his homosexuality.

The film opens with James' character telling a frightened young man that homosexuality is immoral and then backtracks to show his character in his activist days.
James also can be seen in the latest edition of V Magazine posing with singer Lana Del Rey, 29, for its music issue.
The Interview star gushed about the singer as he spoke about her misunderstood persona.
'Lana lives in her art, and when she comes down to earth for interviews, it gets messy, because she isn’t made for this earth. She is made to live in the world she creates,' James said.

He also said that he wants to collaborate on a film with the Summertime Sadness singer
.
She has this idea for a film. I want to do it because it’s a little like Sunset Boulevard. A woman is alone in a big house in L.A. She doesn’t want to go out,' James said.
'She starts to go crazy, and becomes paranoid because she feels like people are watching her. Even in her own house. It’s like an awesome B-movie that lives in Lana’s head. It’s about her, and it’s not about her. Just like her music,' he added.
