Escaped white tiger from flooded Georgia zoo KILLS a man hours after government officials said all the dangerous animals had been rounded up

A white tiger which escaped from a zoo during apocalyptic flooding in the Georgian capital has killed a man, it emerged today.
Dozens of wild animals including bears, wolves and a hippo ran amok through Tbilisi on Sunday after torrential rain allowed them to flee their enclosures.
The city has been placed on lock-down ever since, with police and wildlife experts still trying to round up the animals. 
The tiger killed the man and injured another in Laguna Vere, a mixed residential and commercial area with a swimming and sporting complex in central Tbilisi. 
News of the death comes hours after the government said all of the lions and tigers that went missing had been found dead, based on information from zookeepers. 
The victim, the owner of a textile plant, is understood to have been attacked when he entered the company's warehouse where the animal was hiding. see more photo after the cut...

 Georgia flood: Tbilisi residents warned over zoo animals

        
Heavy flooding in the Georgian capital, Tbilisi, has killed eight people and officials are warning residents to stay indoors to avoid animals that have escaped from a zoo. 
The missing animals include tigers, lions, bears and wolves. It is believed that a zookeeper is among the dead.

A hippopotamus was cornered in one of the city's main squares and subdued with a tranquiliser gun.
Rescue workers are searching submerged homes to check for trapped residents.
Dozens of people have been left homeless after their houses were damaged or destroyed.
Mayor Davit Narmania said the situation was "very grave".
       
Other animals have been recaptured or killed though it is unclear how many are missing. Helicopters are now circling the city as part of a search and rescue operation.
Tbilisi's vice-mayor, Irakly Lekvinadze, estimated the preliminary damage at $10m (£6.43m).
